Nostalgia

A few hints from my past (Tactics: Robert ("Rover") Whittle, David Studdert, Geoff Marsh, Angus Douglas; Darlinghurst, 1979 or 1980, I suspect). Photographer unknown.

(Part of Punk (and Later)).

I came across your site last year whilst endeavoring to download some of Daves stuff (probably should have just asked another story and beside the point).
I gave him your address, he was pretty interested, and has little or no short or long term memory loss (bugger)
I've become quite curious now who is Tight Sainthood /Tactics "OUTIE"
mmmmm?

Well, if you're asking who's behind Tight Sainthood, I always thought it was bloody obvious (and I'm sure David could work it out in seconds if he started digging around...). If you really want to know, email me (the address is on the side bar somewhere) -- a hint: I'm not any of the four guys above :-).

Hmmm... Tight Sainthood strikes me as an anagram, or maybe it only should be. I think i know who you are (what is this? a game show?) - i had some connection with the band at the time (and later?). I remember you showed me how you signed and stamped your essays with a Chinese character seal when you lived in the Wilson Street house with Ang. For some reason i've never forgotten that, though a lot has been lost. Dave's memory isn't that hotshot either... I'll leave it anon this time. I'll see you anon.

Hell, I always think it's obvious who I am :-). It's no secret -- the only reason I use a pseudonym is because I want people to go to my photo pages when they google my name...

Well, i'm glad you're one of a shrinking mob that actually knows who they are! I got a little help from Dave about who you are, as yes, i've been hanging about with him on and off since that early period about which you have written so well. I was a bit of an outsider too at that time, even though i was part of Tactics Mk2. In retrospect i realised i was well, secondary really, as well as shy and socially inept! It took a while (if at all) to stop thinking that by joining the band i had somehow destroyed what had gone before. Ach! All things must pass, but did i have to view it so closely? A lot of Scottish names in & around the Tactics Troupe, all except mine i thought, but which i've recently found out is Gaelic: Gharaidh. Thanks for stirring the memory pot.

Gary M? I'd never have said you were secondary! Or some other Gary I can't remember? There's more memories (slowly) on the way, but get in touch via email if you'd like... blogs are a slow way to communicate. My memory's pretty much intact, unfortunately (now there's blackmail material :-) ).
