One of those irritating grand gnomic phrases destined to be quoted as a meaningful-sounding epigram again and again. But what do they mean? What could they mean?More gnomically, more ambiguously, every immigrant breaks...

This phrase sounds vaguely like, "Black people are oppressed."
You don't imagine all people break eventually, and in their own ways?
Allusion is everything (and "vaguely"'s the word). You know I have no imagination...
