Enablers

The most radical thing about the Internet is the way it enables a total escape from responsibility or accountability for the privileged few (the techies, mostly — think “Anonymous”, Bitcoiners, etc., but also the other usual suspects); the other side of this is the way it enables vigilanteism and mobthink like nothing else in history. All else — the radical connectedness, the surveillance, the long tail, the wisdom of the mob, the adorable cat videos — is just noise.
