Glassholed

Whether we know it or not, I think a large part of the visceral reaction many of us here have to Google Glass is the way it seems to be saying “this is the future we’re preparing for you, and there’s nothing you can do about it”, especially when proclaimed on the face of techies prone to that oblivious, unpracticed, (and typically un-self-aware) smug arrogance you see so often in techno-hipster San Francisco. It’s that face’s way of saying “I’m part of your future, whether you like it or not”, or, more brutally, “I’m determining your future; you aren’t”.
